Coaches Focus Group

Updated December 2021: Data collection with stakeholders is now complete. Thank you for your support.

Hockey Saskatchewan Coaches,

I would like to invite you to be part of a research project I am conducting. This project is part of the requirement for my Master’s Degree in Leadership, at Royal Roads University. This project has been approved by Hockey Saskatchewan, Joel Houseman, Senior Coordinator, Hockey Development – High Performance and Blaine Stork, Senior Coordinator, Hockey Development – Coaching.

The purpose of the research project is to create a conversation with Hockey Saskatchewan stakeholders, including youth and coaches, around youth leadership development. While the deliverables of the project will ultimately be determined collectively by the stakeholders, the project aims to explore how might Hockey Saskatchewan integrate youth leadership development into their mandate.

Specific to this project, coaches currently coaching or with experience at the U15 or higher age divisions, at any level, and registered to coach (Head Coach or Assistant Coach) in Saskatchewan for the 2021-2022 season are invited to participate and share their experience and perspective of youth leadership development.

This phase of the research project will consist of a focus group and is estimated to last one hour and thirty minutes. The focus group is expected to be completed prior to December 15, 2021.

You are not required to participate in this research project. If you do choose to participate, you are free to withdraw without prejudice. Given the group nature of the focus group, it might not be possible to identify your comments in order to remove them.

If you do not wish to participate, simply do not reply to this request.

To be considered for the project and receive additional information please complete and submit the form below.

If you have additional questions regarding the project and its outcomes please contact Nolan Horbach at Nolan.Horbach@royalroads.ca or (306) 270-2099.

Sincerely,

Nolan
